제19대 총선의 투표 선택 = 정권심판론, 이념 투표, 정서적 태도

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 논문은 제19대 총선에서 나타난 유권자의 투표 선택에 어떠한 요인이 영향을 끼쳤는지 분석하고 있다. 분석 결과 비록 선거 이전의 예상과는 달리 새누리당이 승리하기는 했지만 여전히 정권 심판론에 기반한 회고적 투표행태가 중요하게 작용하였다. 다만 정권심판론 이외에도 주요 정당 및 잠재적 대선 후보에 대한 태도 또한 제19대 총선에서 유권자의 투표 선택에 중요한 영향을 끼쳤다는 사실이 드러났다. 특히 정당과 후보에 대한 태도 중에서 유권자가 인식하는 이념적 거리는 영향을 끼치지 않은 반면에 정서적 차원에서 유권자가 가지고 있는 각 정당과 후보에 대한 호불호가 핵심적인 역할을 하였다는 것이 드러났다. 결론에서는 분석 결과가 가지고 있는 이론적 함의에 대해서 논의한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper examines what factors influenced voting choices of Korean voters in the 19th National Assembly Election. Results show that, in spite of the unexpected winning of the Sanuri Party, retrospective voting based on the referendum on the incumbent government still played a significant role. Results also show that, in addition to the referendum on the incumbent government, voters’ attitudes toward major parties and potential presidential candidates exerted a significant influence on vote choices. In particular, affective feeling toward major parties and potential presidential candidates played a central role in vote choices in the 19th National Assembly Election whereas perceptions of ideological distance had little influence. The conclusion discusses the theoretical implications of the findings.
