In this study, outstanding research results in advanced science technology`s basic research projects performed by the National Research Foundation from ‘01 to ‘12 and the 2007 curriculum reform`s content were analyzed as a basis for the goal of developing elementary STEAM education activity subject and content. In order to achieve the study`s goal, literature, visit and research of the National Science Museum, researcher`s meeting and workshop hosting, program development research, council of experts, etc. were used as research methods over the course of four months from November ’12 to February ’13. The main results of the research is as follows. First, a total of 714 outstanding research results in advanced science technology`s basic research projects by National Research Foundation were analyzed, and based on this information, core content and key concepts per year was derived. Second, the 2007 elementary school curriculum of science, mathematics, sociology, art, ethics, and practical courses` content were analyzed by each applicable unit and with this as a basis, 60 STEAM education activity subjects for elementary school were developed. Third, among the developed STEAM education activity subjects, a 3D-based, experience-type STEAM education content was developed for the principle of the day and night phenomenon according to earth`s rotation using the latest KINECT technology.
