청소년 탈성매매 과정 연구 : 근거이론을 중심으로 = A Study on the Process of Youth's Escaping from Prostitution: Based on the Grounded Theory Methodology

This study aims to understand the process that sexually exploited teenage girls escape from prostitution. For this purpose, eleven teenage girls participated in in-depth interview who are considered to have escaped from prostitution completely. Data were analyzed with grounded theory methodology. Fourteen categories consisting of thirty three subcategories and ninety nine concepts are found to explain the process of escaping from prostitution. Sexually exploited girls decide to escape from prostitution under causal conditions such as experiencing traumatic experiences psychologically and physically, and escape actually through crucial events such as being arrested. After decision, they usually go through several times of seduction. As they develop self-regulation ability in order to overcome seduction for their own or with some help from others' instrumental and emotional support, they feel positive affects and hope. As a result of interaction of internal and external conditions, they come to have positive self-image and return to healthy daily life. Selective coding reveals two types of the process of escaping: 'teenagers dependent on crucial events' and 'teenagers being forced to prostitution'.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 국내 여자 성매매 피해청소년들이 경험하는 탈성매매 과정을 이해하는 데 목적이 있다. 이에, 전국 4개 위기청소년교육센터에서 탈성매매 상태로 인정된 청소년 11명을 대상으로 면담을 실시하고 근거이론방 법론으로 자료를 분석하였다. 탈성매매의 과정으로 99개의 개념 및 33개의 하위범주가 도출되었으며 이들로 구성된 14개의 범주는 ‘성매매 결과 인식과 탈성매매 결심’이라는 중심현상에 체계적으로 연결되었다. 청 소년들은 성매매로 인한 심리신체적 손상을 겪는 등의 원인적 조건 하에 경찰검거 등의 결정적 사건을 계기 로 성매매 결과 인식과 탈성매매 결심을 하게 된다. 외부의 도구적, 정서적 지원이라는 중재적 조건에 힘입어 성매매 유혹에 저항하고 자기통제력을 강화하며 대인관계 질의 변화를 경험하며 긍정적 정서와 희망을 경험 한다. 이들은 이런 내적 외적 조건의 상호작용의 결과로 긍정적 자아상과 미래상을 갖게 되고 건전한 일상생 활로 복귀함으로써 탈성매매가 안정화되는 과정을 겪는다. 또한 참가자들은 선택적 코딩에 의해 자발적인 성 매매를 하다가 경찰검거 등의 외적 사건에 의해 성매매를 중단한 ‘결정적 사건 의존형’과 착취적 관계에 종속되어 이미 성매매에 강한 회의를 가진 ‘강요된 성매매 경험형’으로 구분되었다. 본 연구 모델과 서구 탈성매매 모델들의 유사점 및 차이점, 실증적 자료에 기반한 체계적인 탈성매매 지원 개입의 필요성을 논의 하였다.
