드라마에 나타난 한국어 요청 -거절 화행 분석 = The analysis of request-refusal speech act in Drama

The purpose of this study is to prepare an educational plan for foreigners learning the Korean language by investigating the frequently used request-refusal speech act of native Korean speakers in Dramas. Because the speech act of request and refusal is an action that discomforts others and threatens the reputation of others, it is necessary for utterance to be imposed on relative status. Therefore, an educational plan, which implements the request-refusal speech act of Korean native speakers, is essential for foreign learners of the Korean language to minimize pragmatic language use errors and allow fluency in communication. In the first chapter, the purpose and necessity of this study was discussed, and preceding studies about speech act of request and refusal made by the education of Korean language examined to show request-refusal speech act was to be researched. In the second chapter, the idea and category of the speech act of request and refusal was kept by the foundation of effective request-refusal speech act educational plan. The idea of request-refusal educational plan and the category is classified. In the third chapter, three different Korean dramas were analyzed to identify category of the regularly used request-refusal speech act by Koreans. Request-refusal speech act was taken out from episodes one to ten of each drama. In the fourth chapter, the proposal of the different levels of the educational plan, with the request-refusal speech as the center, was made from the results stated in the previous chapter. The intermediate level consisted of an educational plan related to the culture of Korean language etiquette. To motivate the interests of the learners, a drama containing cultural contents of language etiquette was shown and each category of request-refusal speech act was also presented through a drama. Lastly, in the fifth chapter, asummarization of this study``s results was provided and implications, complaints, and restrictions of the study were listed and concluded the discussion.
