대학의 발표교육에서 내용구성력과 발표수행력이 발표불안 감소에 미치는 영향 = The Effect of Content Making Ability and Speech Skill on Reducing Speech Anxiety: Focusing on Personality Characteristics

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 대학의 발표교육에서 발표능력을 내용과 수행 측면으로 구분하여 발표불안 감소에 미치는 영향을 알아보고, 이러한 관계가 학습자의 성격 특성에 따라 어떠한 차이를 보이는지 살펴보는 것이다. 연구를 위해 경기도 소재 두 곳의 전문대학 진로 교과목 수강생 159명을 대상으로 성격 5요인 검사를 실시하였고 발표교육을 진행한 후 발표능력, 발표불안을 측정하였다. 발표능력은 내용구성력과 발표수행력 두 개의 요인으로 나누어 평가하였으며 발표불안에 미치는 영향력을 확인하기 위해 우선 연구대상자 전체를 대상으로, 그 다음은 성격 특성별 집단을 대상으로 중 다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 첫째, 발표능력의 내용구성력과 발표수행력은 발표불안 감소에 유의한 영향을 미쳤으며 내용구성력의 영향력이 더 큰 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 성격 특성별 집단을 대상으로 분석한 결과, 외향성과 신경증이 높은 집 단, 성실성과 개방성이 낮은 집단에서는 내용구성력만 발표불안 감소에 영향을 주었으며, 성실성이 높은 집단에서는 발표수행력만 영향을 미쳤다. 연구결과를 토대로 발표교육 운영 시 내용과 수행 두 측면의 균형 있는 교육의 중요성과 발표교육에서 학습자의 성격 특성을 반영한 효과적인 교수․학습방식을 제안하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper aims to examine the effect of the presentation ability on the speech anxiety reduction in the college presentation class and to look at the difference of these relations according to the learner s personality characteristics. For this aim, it measured big 5 factor and presentation ability, speech anxiety of 159 college students who were given presentation class. A multiple regression analysis was conducted to analyze the effects of the presentation ability which was divided into content making ability and speech skill on speech anxiety. And then a multiple regression analysis was performed for the groups with personality traits. The results of this study were as follows: Firstly, the analysis verified a significant negative correlation between presentation ability and speech anxiety. The influence of content making ability was greater than the influence of speech skill on reducing speech anxiety. Secondly, the results of analysis on the group of personality characteristics sho wed that the group with high extra version and neuroticism, the group with low conscientiousness and openness verified a significant negative correlation between content making ability and speech anxiety, and the group with high conscientiousness verified a significant negative correlation between speech skill and speech anxiety. This paper ends with a suggestion that it is necessary to understand not only the instructional strategies but also the learner ’ s personality characteristics in order to reduce the speech anxiety.
