This thesis aimed to investigate the relationships between the fear of negative evaluation, irrational faith, and academic procrastination. It also aimed to verify the mediating effect of irrational faith on the relationship between academic procrastination and fear of negative evaluation. Data was collected from 390 students at four-year colleges in Seoul, Gyeon-gi, Choungcheong, Jeon-la, and Gyeonsang. The results of the study were as follows. Firstly, there were found to be meaningful and positive relationships among all three factors after examining the fear of negative evaluation, irrational faith, and academic procrastination. Secondly, for the verification result of the mediated model of irrational faith on the relationship between academic procrastination and the fear of negative evaluation of college students; irrational faith manifested a partial medium. In other words, the fear of negative evaluation directly affects academic procrastination, but it was also verified that irrational faith influences the relationship between these two factors indirectly. Lastly, this study outlines a proposition about
significance, limitation, and potential for a follow-up study.
