청소년의 분노표현방식과 심리적 부적응에 대한 사회적 지지의 중재모형 연구 = A mediating model of social support between anger and psychological maladaptation of adolescents

This study examined the mediating effects of social support between the anger and the maladaptation of adolescents, using the structural equation modeling. In the study, the sample of 541 middle and high school students (282 men and 259 women) completed STAI, Anger Experience Scale, Anger Thinking Scale, and Social Support Scale. The study outcomes revealed that hostility and rumination was significant predictors for psychological maladaptation of adolescents. Path analysis showed there was positive correlation between failure of anger control and maladaptation of adolescents. Social support would be mediated with adolescents' maladaptation which might be incurred by failure of anger control. If anger expression was not accepted by significant others, the maladaptation of adolescents tended to be increased. It would be expected that the study outcomes might provide fundamental information in developing anger-control intervention programs for adolescents.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 서울과 경기도의 중·고등학교 541명의 남·여학생을 대상으로, 청소년의 심리적 부적응에 영향을 미치는 분노표현방식과 사회적 지지의 중재모형을 분석하였다. 특히, 본 연구에서는 청소년의 분노인지와 분노표현에 따라 사회적 위축, 우울과 불안, 비행, 그리고 공격성 같은 심리적 부적응이 영향을 받을 것이라고 가정하였다. 연구결과, 청소년의 심리적 부적응을 유의하게 설명하는 변인은 적대적인 태도와 반추였으며, 분노를 억압하거나 분노를 표출하는 통제실패가 부적응의 핵심적인 원인으로 나타났다. 분노감정은 주위 사람들에게 수용되지 못하며 부정적으로 평가받을 경우 특히, 내재화 증상인 불안이 유의하게 높아지는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한 사회적 지지는 분노인지, 분노표현, 심리적 부적응간의 관계를 매개하였다. 이는 분노에 대한 생각이 많고, 분노를 자제하지 못하는 청소년이 사회적 지지가 낮아지는 조건에서 부적응 행동이 증가함을 의미한다. 이것은 자신의 사고와 행동을 통해 적대적인 환경을 만들게 되고, 이러한 적대적인 환경은 다시 그 사람의 적대감과 분노경험 및 공격적 행동을 강화시킨다는 상호교섭적 모형(transactional model)을 시사하는 결과이다. 본 연구의 결과는 사회적인 지지를 포함시킨 청소년 분노관리프로그램의 개발에 중요한 기초자료로 활용될 것을 기대한다.
