청소년의 자살생각 관련 요인 연구 : 사회적지지 및 자아존중감의 완충효과를 중심으로 = A Study on Factors Related to Adolescents’ Suicide Ideation : Focusing on Social support and buffering effects of self-esteem

This study is about factors related to adolescents’ suicide thinking, and it is conducted to confirm the buffering effects of social support and self-esteem on children’s suicide thinking. Based on the findings, it aims to provide various implications to prevent adolescents’ suicide thinking according to their psychological-emotional and socio-environmental variables. The data was collected from 768 middle and high school students in Daegu, and the data conducted multiple regression analysis and hierarchical moderated multiple regression analysis. The findings are as follows.
First, psychological and social factors influencing suicide thinking showed when adolescents are more depressed, have higher academic stresses, visit suicide websites more, and receive more impact from the mass media, more adolescents thought of suicide.
Second, protective factors influencing suicide thinking showed the lower positive self-esteem is and the lower family’s support among social supports is, the more adolescents think of suicide.
Third, according to the analysis result of the buffering effects of protective factors, interaction variables with a significant effect are shown to be academic stresses, friends’ support, depression scale & friends’ support, depression scale & teachers’ support, depression scale & family’s support, depression scale & positive self-esteem, and depression scale & negative self-esteem(=-.889).
The above findings showed that family’s warm support at home and support from positive relations with and teachers in school give a great effect on adolescents’ mental health as an important variable although they are in various psychological and social risks.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 청소년의 자살생각과 관련된 요인에 대한 연구로서 자살생각을 경험하는 청소년들에게 사회적지지와 자아존중감의 완충효과를 살펴보고, 연구결과를 토대로 청소년의 심리정서적 변인과 사회환경적 변인에 따른 자살생각을 예방하기 위한 다양한 시사점을 제공하고자 하였다.
자료 수집은 대구지역의 중ㆍ고등학생 768명을 조사대상으로 하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS(12.0) 프로그램을 이용하여 다중회귀분석 및 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였고 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 청소년의 자살생각에 미치는 심리사회적 요인을 파악한 결과 우울정도가 높을수록, 학업스트레스가 높을수록 그리고 자살사이트방문경험이 있는 학생일수록, 매스컴의 영향이 클수록 더 많은 자살생각을 경험하는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 자살생각에 미치는 보효요인을 파악한 결과 긍정적 자아존중감이 낮을수록, 사회적지지 중 무엇보다 가족으로부터의 지지가 낮을수록, 청소년들이 더 많은 자살생각을 경험하는 것으로 나타났다.
셋째, 보호요인의 완충효과를 파악하기 위해 분석한 결과, 유의한 영향을 미친 상호작용변수는 학업스트레스와 친구지지, 우울척도와 친구지지, 우울척도와 교사지지, 우울척도와 가족지지, 우울척도와 긍정적 자아존중감, 우울척도와 부정적 자아존중감(=-.889)으로 나타났다.
이상의 연구결과는 다양한 심리사회적 위험에 처한 청소년일지라도 가정에서는 가족의 따뜻한 지지가, 학교에서는 교사와 또래친구와의 긍정적 관계가 주는 지지가 그들의 정신건강에 중요한 변인으로 작용한다는 것을 알 수 있었다.
