청소년 공감 척도 개발과 타당화 연구 = Development and Validation of the Adolescent Empathy Scale

This study aims to develop and validate ‘The Adolescent Empathy Scale.’ For this purpose, this research proceeds in two different stages. At Study 1, we systematically review theoretical and empirical literature regarding emotional characteristics of adolescents, in order to suggest conceptual components of adolescents’ empathy and develop 41 measurement items. The results of reliability analysis and exploratory factor analysis indicate that empathy of adolescents consists of three dimensions: ‘cognitive’, ‘affective’, and ‘expressive’ dimensions, which reduce this to a 17-item scale. In the succeeding study, confirmatory factor analysis and validity analysis are conducted (Study 2). The results of such analyses confirmed the goodness-of-fit of the model and verified the concurrent validity. After considering all results, the academic significance, limitations of the study, and suggestions are discussed for the further research.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 ‘청소년 공감 척도’를 개발하고 타당화 하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 연구는 두 단계로 진행되었다. 연구 1에서는 문헌 연구를 통해 청소년 공감의 구성 개념을 설정하고 내용타당도를 검증하여 총 41문항의 예비문항을 개발하였다. 신뢰도 검증 및 탐색적 요인분석을 통해 청소년 공감 척도는 총 3요인(인지적․정서적․표현적 요인)으로 구성되었으며 총 17문항이다. 연구 2에서는 연구1에서 개발된 청소년 공감 척도의 타당도를 검증하고자 하였다. 연구 2를 위해 확인적 요인분석을 사용하여 청소년 공감 척도 요인의 적합성을 확인하고, 대인관계반응지수 및 도움행동척도의 하위요인과의 상관을 통해 공인타당도를 검증하였다. 마지막으로 본 연구를 바탕으로 학문적인 시사점과 추후 연구 방향에 대한 제한점에 대해 논의하였다.
