신석기시대의 뼈연모 제작기술 연구 = The Technology of Bone Industry in Neolithic

국문 초록 (Abstract)

서부 유럽과 북아프리카의 신석기시대에 사용되었던 뼈연모는 매우 다양하며 시기적, 공간적인 차이를 보인다. 이러한 뼈연모의 제작에는 다양한 기술들이 체계적으로 적용되었다. 뼈연모는 원재료의 선택과 처리 과정 후 마름질, 다듬기, 끝손질의 단계를 거쳐 제작되었다. 마름질에 쓰인 기술은 기본적으로 때려깨기(직접 간접), 켜기, 썰기, 갈기, 깎기, 부러뜨리기 등이 있다. 이러한 기술은 자주 두세 가지가 서로 조합되어 쓰였다. 다듬기에 쓰인 기술은 갈기, 긁기, 깎기 두드라기(망치질), 잔손질, 구멍뚫기, 새기기 등이 있다. 마름질 기술은 종종 다듬기 기술로 변형되어 쓰이기도 했다. 신석기시대 뼈연모 제작기술은 대부분 후기구석기시대의 것을 이어받은 것이지만, 후빙기의 달라진 동물상에서 기인한 원재료의 변화, 새로운 제작 연장의 출현 등으로 인하여 완벽하게 신석기화 했으며 새로운 기술이 뒤따랐다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The artifacts of bone industry in Neolithic, which were used in western France and northern Africa. are extremely various and show the temporal and spatial differences. In addition, the diverse techniques with an efficient system were applied to practice the bone industry. After choosing and processing the raw materials, they were made into products by passing the stages according to the following order: debitage, shaping, and the finishing touch. The techniques used in debitage basically consist of percussion, lengthwise sawing, transverse sawing, abrasion, transverse cutting, snapping and so on. Occasionally, one of these was practiced in association with a couple of others. Shaping were performed with the techniques such as polishing, scraping, shaving, hammering, retouch, perforation, incision, etc, into which those of debitage would be transformed frequently. By the change of raw materials that resulted from the changed fauna of the post glacial period and emergence of the improved manufacturing tools, the technology of bone industry set its own Neolithic standard followed by another new technology, although the techniques of bone industry in Neolithic succeeded to those of late Paleolithic tradition.
