가치의 측정과 사회적 소망성 편향 : 사회적 신뢰의 예

국문 초록 (Abstract)

개인을 분석단위로 하는 사회과학연구의 대부분은 사회조사자료에 의존하고 있다. 그러나 사회적 또는 학문적 관심의 대상이 되는 다양한 추상적 개념의 조사결과는 조사의 주체, 시기 및 문항에 따라 많은 차이를 보인다. 이 연구는 일관적이지 못한 결과가 사회적 소망성에 의한 응답편향에 기인한다고 가정하여 사회적 신뢰의 개념을 예로 이를 확인하였다. 열거식 실험적 서베이의 조사결과 신뢰의 참 수준은 알려진 것보다 훨씬 낮고 학력의 수준이 높아지면 소망성 편향도 더 커지는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 사회조사는 개념의 조작화과정, 자료수집단계 및 통계적 분석의 단계에서 보다 세심한 주의가 필요하다.
