다문화 이혼가정 아동을 위한 놀이치료 사례연구 = Play Therapy with a Child from a Divorced Multicultural Family: A Case Study

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study serves as a case study for the use of play therapy with a children from divorced multicultural families. The child was referred to the clinic due to hair loss, frequent urination, and emotional difficulties resulting from his parents`divorce. The child was six-years-old at intake and underwent a total of 45 play therapy sessions. The child`s father is Korean and his mother is Japanese. He was not able to speak Korean at intake because he grew up in Japan until the age of six-years-old. Therefore, it was necessary to involve his father, fluent in Japanese, in therapy sessions in order to understand the child`s emotional status. After two months, the child started communicating in Korean with a therapist and, in turn, child-centered play therapy was conducted. Through this process, his presenting problems were resolved and he then successfully adapted to his new environment.
