The purpose of this study was to examine the level of case manager’s self-efficacy and the influence of case management implementation factors on the case manager’s self-efficacy at home and community care facility for the elderly. For this study, I surveyed case manager at home and community care facilities for the elderly in the area of Ulsan and Gyeongnam for more than a year. This study employs case management implementation factors(personal factors, organizational factors, community factors) as the independent variable, and a case manager self-efficacy as the dependent variable.
The results showed that organizational factors for the elderly case management (guide on case management work, the organizational supporting case management) affected on the case manager self-efficacy. And Social work experience gave a significant impact on case manager’s self-efficacy. Otherwise, community factors (community network, community resources for the elderly case management) did not have a significant impact on the case manager self-efficacy.
Through this study, I confirmed the importance of a guideline on case management work, the organizational supporting case management and the social work experience to improve a case manager self-efficacy at the elderly care facilities. This study verified empirically the relationship between a case manager self-efficacy and case management implementation factors.
