또래 괴롭힘 상황에서 주변인의 방어성향에 영향을 미치는 경험적, 심리적, 상황적 요인 = Experiential, Psychological, and Situational Factors Influencing on Bystander’s Defending Tendency in Bullying

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 또래 괴롭힘 상황에서 주변인의 방어성향에 영향을 미치는 요인을 경험적, 심리적, 상황적 요인의 관점에서 분석하였다. 첫째, 주변인의 유형 분포가 성별 및 학년에 따라 차이가 있는지 확인하였다. 둘째, 주변인의 유형에 따라 경험적, 심리적, 상황적 특성에 차이가 있는지 확인하였다. 셋째, 주변인의 방어성향에 영향을 미치는 요인을 경험적, 심리적, 상황적 요인으로 분류하여 그 상대적 영향력을 확인하였다. 이를 위하여 수도권에 소재한 중학교 학생 총 251명을 분석에 활용하였다. 그 결과 또래 괴롭힘 상황에서 주변인의 유형 분포의 비율은 방관자,(64.9%) 방어자(24.3%), 동조자(5.6%), 강화자(5.2%) 순으로 확인되었다. 주변인의 유형에 따라 가해경험, 반사회적 동조성, 도덕적 이탈, 공감, 상황통제, 가해학생과 관계, 피해학생과의 관계 변인에서 동조자, 강화자, 방관자, 방어자 집단 간의 유의미한 차이를 확인하였다. 또한 주변인의 방어성향에 영향을 미치는 요인을 확인한 결과 가해경험, 반사회적 동조성, 상황통제 및 가해학생과의 관계가 유의미한 영향력을 지니는 것으로 확인되었다. 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 청소년 사이에서 발생하는 괴롭힘을 효과적으로 예방하기 위한 교육적 개입방법을 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to identify factors influencing bystander’s defending tendency in bullying in terms of experiential, psychological, and situational factors by investigating 251 middle school students in metropolitan area. The study examined the ratio of the four bystander sub-types and its difference in terms of gender and grade. In addition, differences of experiential, psychological, and situational variables among the four sub-types were investigated. Finally, experiential, psychological, and situational factors influencing on bystanders’ defending tendency were explored. The results are as followings. Firstly, the ratio of the four bystander’s sub-types were outsider(64.9%), defender(24.3%), assistant(5.6%) and reinforcer(5.2%). Past bullying experience, anti-social conformity, moral disengagement, empathy, controlling situation, relationships with bullies and victims were different in terms of bystander four sub-types. In addition, past bullying experience, anti-social conformity, controlling situations and relationship with bullies were identified as significant factors in predicting bystander’s defending tendency in bullying. Based on the results, effective educational interventions decreasing bullying were suggested in terms of bystander’s behavioral reactions.
