신채호 집필 추정 작품에 대한 저자 논증 = A Study on Authors of Works Assumed to be Written by Shin Chaeho

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고에서는 단재 신채호가 집필한 것으로 추정되는 몇 작품에 대해 저자를 논증해 보았다. 최근 이호룡은 『신채호 다시 읽기-민족주의자에서 아나키스트로』에서 새롭게 몇 작품을 발굴하여 단재 작품으로 제시하는가 하면, 또한 이전에 단재의 저작으로 규정했던 작품을 단재의 작품에서 배제하였다. 본고는 이호룡이 제기한 문제들을 비판적으로 검토하고 보완하는 입장에서 비롯되었다.
이호룡은 『신대한』 창간호에 실린 고마의 「국제연맹에 대한 감상」을 단재의 글로 규정했다. 본 연구자는 고마의 「국제연맹에 대한 감상」(『신대한』 1호)과 「난폭」(『신대한』 3호)을 단재의 작품과 비교하여 문체와 사상이 동일하다는 것을 발견했다. 그러므로 고마가 신채호의 호라는 결론에 이르렀다. 또한 『천고』에 나온 필명 ‘아관’의 글은 단재신채호전집간행위원회에 의해 『개정판단재신채호전집』(1977)에 포함된 이래 단재의 글로 인식되어 왔다. 이호룡은 최근 아관이 신채호나 김지섭이 아닐 것이라고 주장했다. 본고에서는 여전히 아관이 김지섭일 가능성을 제기하였다. 하지만, 향후 충분한 근거들을 통해 저자 확정이 필요하다. 마지막으로 이호룡은『대한매일신보』 무서명 논설 몇 작품을 단재의 작품으로 규정하였다. 그는 단재의 전체 사상의 흐름에서 그렇게 본 것이다. 본 연구자 역시 논설 주필, 단재의 집필 시기, 그리고 단재의 사상과 글의 맥락에서 단재의 글로 판단했다.
앞으로 『황성신문』, 『대한매일신보』 등에서 단재의 글을 찾는 노력이 필요하다. 처음 단재전집편찬위원회가 그러했듯 많은 연구자들이 힘을 모아 단재 작품들을 발굴하고 저자를 확정해야 한다. 그래야 단재 연구가 심화되고 확산될 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In this study, I discussed authors of works that are assumed to be written by Danjae Shin Chaeho. Recently, Lee Horyong discovered some works and considered them as Danjae’s in Reading about Shin Chaeho Again- from a Nationalist to an Anarchist Additionally, he excluded some works which were previously stated as Danjae’s works. I started this discussion in a position of critically looking over and making up for the problems of Lee Horyong’s.
Lee Horyong stated that “Appreciation about the League of Nations” written by Goma in first issue of The Shin Dai Hahn is Danjae’s work. I compared Goma’s “Appreciation about the League of Nations”(First issue of The Shin Dai Hahn) and “Violence”(Third issue of The Shin Dai Hahn) with Danjae’s works and discovered that they had the sameness of literary style and thought. By this, I concluded that Goma is Shin Chaeho’s pen name. In addition, works written by the pen name ‘A-Gwan’ in TienKu are considered as Danjae’s since the Compilation Committee of Danjae Shin Chaeho’s Complete Works has included A-Gwan’s work in Edition of Danjae Shin Chaeho’s complete works(1977). Lee Horyong recently stressed that A-Gwan is neither Shin Chaeho nor Kim Jiseob. In this study, I stated that A-Gwan would be Kim Jiseob, but we need to establish the author based on enough materials. Lastly, Lee Horyong defined as Danjae’s works some essays which were not signed in The Korea Daily News, based on the flow of Danjae’s whole thought. I concluded that they are Danjae’s works upon the chief editor of that newspaper, the writing period of Danjae, and those thought and style.
In the future, we need effort for finding Danjae’s work in The Hwang Seong Newspaper, The Korea Daily News and etc. Just like the Compilation Committee of Danjae Shin Chaeho’s Complete Works, many researchers should put effort together to discover Danjae’s works and establish the author of them. That is how studies on Danjae can be intensified and spread.
