During the era of national division, the two Koreas exerted the politics of ethnic nationalism by attacking their rival regime while they argued for national reunification through emphasizing their ethnic purity. However, in the post-Cold War and multi-cultural era of the 21st century, South Korea`s antagonistic anti-communist education has been transformed into the multi-cultural unification education that integrates Korean and foreign immigrants into the Republic of Korea. Going beyond the context of the integration of the two antagonistic regimes, an urgent problem of national reunification has been incorporated into that of the integration of a multi-cultural society that should embrace minority groups in contemporary South Korea. Therefore, it is valuable to conceptualize social citizenship beyond the legal and political boundary and to address the social citizenship of Korean and foreign minorities in the multi-cultural unification education of South Korea. In this vein, South Korea`s school education should be further developed through understanding the alternative notions such as cultural multitudism/inter-culturalism, multi-racial minority rights, and coexistent hybridity.
