As the opening of the agricultural market accelerated, circulation of agricultural products in mass quantity is becoming more common.
The bulk distribution system of agricultural products has the advantage of providing agricultural products with guaranteed high level of quality at a lower cost through standardized trade and branded agricultural products.
In contrast, there has been criticism that mass production and distribution system of agricultural products are accelerating the collapse of petty farmers, weakening the diversity of agricultural production, and threatening the food safety according to the extended traveling distance. The purpose of this assignment is in reducing the distribution distance and stage of agricultural products by reflecting this trend and to construct the community-based agricultural supply system that can secure safe food items.
Construction of community-based agricultural supply system needs to be precedented by enhanced accessibility of consumers, ensured diversity of products, and secured credibility. To this end, Si·Gun and Gyunggi-Do need to establish ties and promote this project. The plan is for Gyunggi-Do to be in charge of overall planning and Si·Gun to conduct the business directly based on regional characteristics. It is necessary for Gyunggi-Do and Si·Gun to construct a new distribution platform to promote certification, sale support, technical support, education, and advertising support, and Si·Gun needs to construct a community-based supply system of agricultural products in connection with the new distribution platform. The core of direct distribution is in communicating with consumers and constructing the production and distribution system corresponding to changes in the consumption pattern. To this end, construction of direct distribution system of closely linked consumer and producer would be necessary. In this aspect, operation of agricultural products market through cooperative association of producer and consumer would be necessary, and secondly, expansion and promotion of direct distribution through cooperative association of multiple stakeholders would be needed.
