해방기 국민국가 수립과 염상섭 소설의 정치성 = 『효풍』을 중심으로

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

After the Liberation of Korea, Yeom, Sangseob moved from Manchuria to Korea Peninsula and he began again writing fiction. Among his fiction published during the Liberation Period, Hyopung shows his capabilities as a writer and his awareness of a realist. At that time, a division of Korea have been realized in southern part of Korean Peninsula. Yeom describes many problems that occurred during the nation-state construction by this fiction.
He successfully describes a reality that a Japanese woman Kaneko who married Korean man is recognized as a person with nationality of the Republic of Korea. In a legal sense, nationality was based on a colonial period’s family registry system. So it couldnt identify with ethnicity. Moreover, politically, economically and linguistically, he focused on interpreter and trader who mediate between South Korea and the United States. They could be included in a imperial system as well as intensify their social status by carrying out as a agent of empire.
In result, Yeom ethnically and linguistically focused on beings who had been left outside of the boundaries of nation-state. Through this, he emphasized that nationality cant be formed in a single identity. After the division of South and North Korea in 1948, he still pursues new countries including the ideological diversity.
