도박중독 상담자들의 상담 현장 경험에 관한 연구 = A Study on the problem gambling counselor` s practice experience

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 도박중독 상담자들의 상담 현장에 관한 경험의 의미에 대해 질적 연구방법 중 하나인 현상학적 연구를 실시하였다. 이를 위해 우리나라 현장에서 도박중독 상담을 지속해온 12명의 도박중독 상담자들을 대상으로 심층 면접을 실시하였다. 분석 결과 ``중독의 깊은 상처를 만남``, ``상담현장에서의 어려움을 경험``, ``상처와 고통을 대면하고 나를 점검하기``, ``사람을 만나는 사람``, ``변화와 성장 그 옆자리에 서기``, ``변화를 만나는 기쁨``, ``함께 성장하고 건강한 가치를 깨달음``이라는 7개의 주제범주와 20개의 의미단위가 도출되었다. 도박중독 상담과정은 내담자의 변화뿐만 아니라 상담자에게도 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 상담자들은 많은 어려움을 경험하고 있으나 상담에서의 소진이 아닌 내담자의 변화를 독려하고 이끌어내면서 보람과 의미를 찾고 어려움을 해결하고자 시도하는 모습을 볼 수 있었다. 도박중독 상담 과정은 도박중독의 고통과 상처를 극복해 가고 변화해가는 내담자를 통해 참여자 자신의 변화와 성장을 경험해나가는 과정이었다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 상담자의 발달촉진적 환경을 위한 임상실천현장의 이론적, 실천적 함의를 제언하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examines the counselor` s practice experience with the gambling addicts at community centers, using a phenomenological approach. Recently the roles and competencies of counselors have received a lot of attentions due to their significance in the clinical field. In order to understand the meaning of counselors` practice experience, I conducted in-depth interviews with twelve counselors who have clinical experiences in Problem Gambling. I found seven essential themes emerging from the result of my research; ``the deep scar inscribed by the gambling``, ``the confrontation with the scar and pain``, ``moving forward along with the self-reflection``, ``standing by change and growth``, ``interacting with other people``, ``being happy with having changes``, ``reflecting the value of growing together and being healthy``. Ialso found that counselors have been developing their own professional competencies with the continuous learning and experience of change that they face in a setting of Problem Gambling counseling practice. This phenomenological research means to provide with practical and theoretical implications for the treatment design and further planning for the Problem Gambling.
