이웃환경과 청소년의 가족환경스트레스, 학습된 무력감의 관계 = Neighborhood Environment, Family Environment Stress, and Learned Helplessness among Adolescents

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 이웃환경의 구조적·기능적 요인이 청소년의 학습된 무력감에 영향을 미치는 과정을 분석하는 것이다. 본 연구는 Sampson(1992)의 사회해체이론과 Ross(2001)의 무질서모델, Gutman(2005)의 가족과정모델을 이론적 근거로 하여 연구모형을 설정한 후, 구조방정식모형 분석을 통해 경로과정을 검증하였다. 본 연구의 조사대상은 부산시에 거주하는 총 818명의 중학생이며, 빈곤지역과 비빈곤 지역 청소년들을 유사한 비율로 표본에 포함하기 위해서 할당표집방법을 활용하였다. 자료수집은 설문조사를 통해 실시하였고, 구조방정식모형 프로그램인 AMOS 17.0을 통해 연구모형을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 측정모형과 구조모형이 모두 자료에 적절한 모형적합도를 보였으며, 최종수정모형의 경로관계가 모두 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 최종수정모형의 분석결과에 의하면, 이웃환경의 구조적 요인인 이웃빈곤은 학습된 무력감에 직접적 영향을 미치지 못하고, 대신 이웃무질서와 가족환경스트레스의 매개적 과정을 통해 학습된 무력감에 간접적인 영향을 주었다. 이웃빈곤은 이웃무질서에 대해서는 유의미한 직접효과를 보였지만, 이웃유대에 대해서는 유의한 영향을 미치지 못했다. 또한 이웃환경의 기능적 요인인 이웃무질서와 이웃유대는 학습된 무력감에 유의미한 직접효과를 미칠 뿐만 아니라 가족환경스트레스를 통해 간접적인 영향을 주었다. 본 연구는 이러한 분석결과를 토대로 청소년의 학습된 무력감에 대한 실제적 개입과 추후 연구를 위한 방안을 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of neighborhood structural and functional factors upon learned helplessness among adolescents. As specifying a research model based on Sampson`s social disorganization model (1992), Ross`s neighborhood disorder model(2001), and Gutman`s family process model(2005), the study investigated the paths between neighborhood factors and learned helplessness through a structural equation modeling. The study sample consisted of 818 adolescents in Pusan who were selected as using a quota sampling method. This study performed AMOS 17.0 to analyze the research model. The analysis results showed that both measurement and structural models had a good fit to the data and all paths of final structural model were statistically significant. The main findings identified that neighborhood poverty of a neighborhood structural factor did not have a direct influence on learned helplessness among adolescents. However, neighborhood poverty affected indirectly learned helplessness through mediating roles of neighborhood disorder and family environment stress. Additionally, neighborhood poverty had a significant influence on neighborhood disorder but did not affect significantly neighborhood bonding. Neighborhood functional factors, neighborhood disorder and bonding, did not only related directly to learned helplessness but also influence indirectly learned helplessness through family environment stress. The results of this study suggest some implications for practical intervention and further research on learned helplessness among adolescents.
