This study was intended to look into the effects of dance movement therapy focused on brain dance on reducing stage anxiety in juvenile dance majors. To investigate the effects of dance movement therapy focused on brain dance on reducing stage anxiety, a dance movement therapy program was conducted on the subject of 17 young dance majors attending S Arts High School located in S city, with a total of 12 sessions for 12 weeks. Then, tests on stage anxiety were given to analyze the results before and after the dance movement therapy program focused on brain dance. Thus, this study had the purpose of controlling the dancers’ psychological, physical
and cognitive anxiety effectively through the dance movement therapy program focused on brain dance by considering psychological factors related to the stage anxiety of young dance majors and their effects. Results of the study can be summarized as follows: Dance movement therapy program focused on brain dance conducted on juvenile dance majors made a positive effect on reducing stage anxiety with a significant difference. The program also showed a positive effect on reducing its sub-factors of emotional, physical and cognitive anxiety with a significant difference. In conclusion, it was seen that the dance movement therapy program focused on brain dance has effect on reducing stage anxiety in juvenile dance majors. This study has significance in applying art therapy at the site through effect analysis of the dance movement therapy program focused on brain dance and presenting practical data.
