This study examined the determinants of professionals` dual commitment to the organization and profession by parallel model approach. The sample consisted of 489 professional researchers. The demographic variables such as gender, marital status, age, education level, and tenure were used as control variables in two regression equations. The results revealed that internal locus of control, job challenge, job significance, the expected utility of present job, career satisfaction, organizational support, supervisory support, and coworker support were found to be common predictors of organizational commitment and professional commitment. Finally, implications of the findings, limitations of this study, and directions of future studies were discussed.
