노년기의 부부관계 만족도와 우울의 종단적 상호관계 - 성별과 연령집단에 따른 차이를 중심으로 - = Longitudinal relationship between Marital relationship and Depression of the Elderly: Focusing on the gender and age differences

The purpose of this study was to examine the longitudinal relationship between marital relationship and depression of the elderly focusing on gender and age difference. In this study, using four waves(2010-2013) of the korea welfare panel study and a latent growth curve model and multi-group analyses. Participants were 3,149 elderly people aged more than 55. The results of this study showed that, first, elderly’s marital relationship and depression decreased during four-year and intercept of marital relationship and depression were negatively correlated slope of marital relationship and depression. Second, the initial level of male elderly’s marital relationship was higher and it decrease more rapidly during the four year but the initial level of female elderly’s depression was higher and it decrease more rapidly. Initial level of old-old group’s depression was the highest but pre-old group was shown the most rapid decrease in slop of marital relationship. Third, results of analysis of longitudinal relationship, intercept of marital relationship was negatively correlated intercept of depression. In addition, the intercept of marital relationship and depression had a negative effect on slope of marital relationship and depression and the intercept of depression had a negative effect on slope of marital relationship. Finally, longitudinal relationship between marital relationship and depression were significant differences in marital relationship according to gender and depression according to age. Based on the findings, implication for intervention and future research for marital relationship and depression of the elderly were discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 노년기의 부부관계 만족도와 우울간의 종단적 상호관계를 성별과 연령집단에 따른 차이를 중심으로 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국복지패널 5차(2010년)부터 8차(2013년)까지 4년간의 종단자료를 활용하였으며, 만 55세 이상 3149명의 자료를 이용하여 잠재성장모형분석과 다집단분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 노년기의 부부관계 만족도와 우울은 시간이 지남에 따라 점차 감소하였고, 부부관계 만족도 및 우울의 초기치와 변화율간에 부적상관을 보였다. 둘째, 집단간 차이분석 결과, 부부관계 만족도 초기치는 남성이 더 높고 변화율에 대한 감소속도도 더 급격하게 나타났다. 우울 초기치는 여성이 더 높고 변화율에 대한 감소속도도 여성이 더 급격하게 나타났으며, 후기 노년기집단의 초기치 우울이 가장 높게 나타났으나 변화율에 대한 감소속도는 예비 노년기집단이 가장 급격하게 나타났다. 셋째, 종단적 상호관계 분석결과, 초기치의 부부관계 만족도와 우울간에 부적상관, 부부관계 만족도 및 우울의 초기치가 부부관계 만족도 및 우울의 변화율에 부적인 영향, 그리고 우울 초기치가 부부관계 만족도의 변화율에 부적인 영향을 미쳤다. 마지막으로, 두 변인간의 종단적 상호관계는 부부관계 만족도의 경우 성별에 따라, 우울의 경우 연령집단에 따라 차이를 보였다. 이런 연구결과를 토대로 노년기의 부부관계 만족도와 우울에 대한 실천적 함의와 후속연구에 대해 논의하였다.
