북한이탈주민 어머니들의 자녀양육과 교육의 경험에 관한 질적 연구 = Qualitative Study on the Experiences of Child Care and Education among North Korean Refugee Mothers

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aims to find out the mothers`` experiences on raising and educating their elementary school children among North Korean refugee mothers. The study utilizes the phenomenology method of the qualitative research method and the data were analyzed by the thematic analysis method. The data were collected in November of 2014. The results of the interviews on 6 mothers were analyzed and categorized into 3 dimensions with 2 to 3 subjects. Dimension 1 was titled as ``Hardships of child caring and educating`` with 3 subjects of ``Difficulties in understanding systems and culture``, ``Difficulties in child education``, and ``Difficulties in parents`` attitudes on child raising``. Dimension 2 was titled as ``Problem solving and coping as a parent`` along with 3 subjects of ``Efforts of mother``, ``Help from others``, and ``Program participation``. And Dimension 3 was titled as ``Learning on the mother``s role on child education`` with 2 subjects of ``Learning`` and ``Trusting and participating``. The mothers were resolving their tasks in a more active manner than those who had been complaining about their situation in the past. This phenomenon is new. And this implies that the competent parent education program would be necessary for these North Korean refugee mothers for improving their child caring competencies.
