편견감소교육 방향 모색을 위한 외국인과의 접촉빈도와 편견 간 매개효과 분석 = An Analysis of the mediating effect between contact frequency and prejudice of out-group in search of the direction for the prejudice-reducing education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

In order to search for a new direction of education, designed to alleviate prejudice on foreigners, this study aims to confirm the effect of out-group contact frequency on out-group prejudice and the mediating effect presented within this process. For this, a survey has been conducted to 561 undergraduate students, and the results are as followed. Firstly, out-group contact frequency exerted negative influence on self-anxiety and other-anxiety, positive influence on self-disclosure. Second, considering the effect of out-group contact frequency on out-group prejudice, a full mediating effect has been observed in both other-anxiety and self-disclosure. However, mediating effect has not been found in self-anxiety. Hence out-group frequency has a positive correlation with self-disclosure, and a negative correlation with otheranxiety, which means that increased other-contact frequency entails decreased out-group prejudice. Thirdly, regarding the effect of out-group contact frequency on out-group prejudice, self-disclosure exerts a greater influence compared to out-group anxiety. Also, a dual mediating effect, which is out-group anxiety affecting self-disclosure, has been confirmed. As seen above, the contact frequency with foreigners is not the crucial factor. Instead, other-anxiety and self-disclosure were the important factors.
