초등교사의 영어교육 경력에 따른 영어교육 전문성 인식 연구 = The Perceptions of Teachers on the Characteristics of Good English Lessons at Elementary School

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to explore the different aspects of elementary teachers`` conceptions on the good English teaching at elementary school based on the five developmental stages of their teaching experiences. For the research, total of 15 elementary teachers having English teaching experiences at school were selected and interviewed in-depth. As a result, the characteristics of the good English teaching at elementary school were found as follows. First, as they``re having more teaching experiences their conceptions of good English teaching had been changed from teachers`` to children``s viewpoints. They attempted expanding and transferring the content from their focus on the English curriculum itself to more consideration of the elementary curriculum in general when they taught English. And it was very important and critical for teachers to involve in research activities and formal and informal mutual interchange among teachers since it helped to improve their English expertise. Therefore, this research suggested that reflecting upon their developmental stages in English teaching expertise they showed different characteristics in the areas of linguistic proficiency, lesson planning, teaching practice, knowledge, and staff development. It needs to provide the customized programs of staff development for teachers reflecting their developmental stages in English teaching expertise and to have further research on the area.
