유아의 기관적응과 어머니 양육효능감관계에서 유아 부정적 정서성의 조절효과 = The Mediating Role of Negative Emotionality on Preschool Adjustment and Parenting Efficacy

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 유아의 부정적 정서성이 유아적응과 어머니의 양육효능감 간 관계를 조절하는가를 알아보는 것이다. 연구대상은 유아교육기관 만 4, 5세 유아의 어머니와 유아의 각 담임교사 270쌍이다. 연구에 활용된 설문지는 유아의 부정적 정서성의 기질과 어머니의 양육효능감 질문으로 어머니의 보고로 측정되었으며, 적응은 유아 각 담임교사의 보고를 통해 측정되었다. 어머니 응답과 교사 응답에서 수합된 자료를 토대로 상관분석, 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 친사회행동적응과 자아강도적응에서 유아의 부정적정서성과 어머니의 양육효능감이 상호작용효과를 보인 반면, 긍정적감정적응·또래관계적응·하루일과적응에서는 상호작용효과를 보이지 않았다. 또한 어머니의 양육효능감은 친사회행동적응, 긍정적감정적응 영역에서 매우 유의미한 예측변인으로 나타났다. 추가적으로 기관적응의 5개 하위영역 모두에서 여아가 남아보다 더 높은 적응수준을 보였다. 본 연구결과를 통해 부정적정서성이 높은 기질의 유아들이 그렇지 않은 유아들보다 어머니의 높은 양육효능감이 수행됐을 때 기관적응력이 높다는 사실이 밝혀졌다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating role of preschool children’s negative emotionality characteristic on the relationship between preschool children’s adjustment and mother’s parenting efficacy.
The participants were 270 pairs of mothers and classroom teacher of children. Preschool children’s negative emotionality and mother’s parenting efficacy were measured using mother’s reports and preschool children’s adjustment was measured vis reports of each preschool children’s teachers. Correlation and hierarchial regression analyses were conducted based on the reports by the parents and teachers. The findings showed that in terms of prosocial behavior adjustment and ego strength adjustment specifically, there was an interaction effect between the children’s negative emotionality and mother’s parenting efficacy.
On the other hand, there were no indications of interaction effects within the domains of positive emotion adjustment, peer relation adjustment, and day routines adjustment. Additionally, girls displayed a higher level of preschool adjustment and its overall five subcategories compared to boys. Also, the mothers’parenting efficacy significantly predicted domains of prosocial behavior adjustment and positive emotion adjustment. The result from the current study demonstrated that children with high negative emotionality characteristic are able to perform better preschool adjustment than the children with low negativity emotionality characteristic when they receive positive parenting efficacy from their mothers.
