한국판 인터넷 독서 성향 검사 도구의 타당도 검증 = A Validation Study for the Korean Survey of Online Reading Attitudes and Behaviors and Skills(KSORAB)

This study tested the validity of the KSORAB (Korean Survey of Online Reading Attitudes and Behaviors and Skills) which measures the dispositions of Korean students towards online reading. The KSORAB is based on the SORAB, which was originally made in America and then translated into the Korean version. Six-hundred six elementary students answered a questionnaire which included the items for the KSORAB: Efficacy for reading online, Efficacy for online reading skill implementation, Motivation, Internet Value/Interest, Self-regulatory practices within Internet reading, and Anxiety. The exploratory factor analysis (EFA) of the KSORAB was conducted in order to assess the underlying structure of the instrument. This revealed four factors in Korea instead of the five factors in America. The factors were Efficacy for Online reading, Self-regulatory practices within Internet reading, Motivation/value/interest, Anxiety all of which fit the theoretical structure of the SORAB. Tests for validity of the KSORAB based on confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with new data(N=452) showed reasonable validity levels for administration in Korea. Implications are discussed in relation to future development of a new survey in efforts to measure the dispositions towards online reading of Koreans in their cultural context as well as potential uses of the instrument in its current form.
