학교 독서정책의 핵심 쟁점과 과제 = Core Issues and Solutions for School Reading Policies

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study reviewed the recent trends in school reading policies based on its foundations of laws and found out key issues and solutions for school reading policies. First, this study identified four major issues and problems related to school reading policies: 1) The school reading policies concentrated on school library infrastructure and had a limited impact on students’ reading activities. 2) The school reading policies focused on one-time event instead of supporting for teaching and learning for teachers and students. 3) There was a separation between the school library policies and school curriculum. 4) The concept of school reading education was not identified yet and also the roles of school libraries were not set up. To solve these issues and problems, the study suggested four ways for school reading policies: 1) there was a need for a new law about school reading education. 2) The department of curriculum policy in the Ministry of Education should comprehensively manage works related school libraries instead of organizing a committee for school library promotion. 3) The school library works should focused on supporting teaching and instruction in classes, especially for students’ reading activities. 4) The concept of reading education related to reading to learn should be clarified by diverging from the concept of reading for liberal arts.
