부모간의 폭력노출 및 학대받은 경험이 아동의 공격성 발달에 미치는 영향 = The Impact of Exposure to Family Violence on Developmental Progress of Aggression

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This longitudinal study examined the long-term effect of exposure to family violence on the developmental course of aggression from childhood to adolescence. Using longitudinal data, it explored three critical questions: 1) What is the common growth pattern of aggression from childhood to adolescence? 2) What is the distal effect of exposure to family violence on the growth of aggression over time? 3) What is the proximal effect of exposure to family violence on aggression above and beyond the effects of trajectories of aggression over time. A latent growth modeling approach was employed to answer the research questions. First, the model showed that there was variability in the initial and the growth rate of aggression over time. In general, self-reported aggression tended to increased over time. Second, children who exposed to family violence were more likely to continue to have an increased level of aggression over time. Furthermore, more exposure to family violence was associated with higher level of aggression at age 11 throughout 15. Conceptual and practical ramifications are discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 부부폭력 노출경험과 아동학대가 아동기 후기(약 11세)에서부터 청소년기 초기(약 15세)동안의 공격성 발달에 미치는지를 영향을 살펴보았다. 일반아동을 대상으로 5년간 매년 반복적으로 추적 조사한 한국청소년정책연구원의 한국청소년패널조사(Korea Youth Panel Study, KYPS) 자료를 사용하였다. 분석 결과, 10대 초중반에 나타나는 공격성의 일반적 발달패턴은 전반적으로 점차 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 10대 초반에 가정폭력을 많이 경험한 아동일수록 공격성의 시작 수준이 높았고, 10대 초중반 내내 공격성의 수준이 더 높았다. 가정폭력이 공격성에 미치는 인접효과는 초등학교 4학년에 아동학대를 많이 경험한 아동일수록 같은 시기에 나타나는 공격성의 수준이 더 높았고 이러한 경향은 이후 4년간 지속적으로 나타났다. 따라서 가정폭력의 종단적 변화에 미치는 장기적 효과 및 아동기에 걸쳐 경험한 가정폭력이 문제행동에 지속적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타남에 따라, 조기 예방뿐만 아니라 아동기 전반에 나타나는 가정폭력을 관리하고 아동 발달 시기에 따른 개입 프로그램을 적절히 지원하는 것이 요청된다.
