사회경제적 지위, 어머니의 우울, 어머니의 양육행동 및 유아의 부정적 또래놀이행동 간의 구조적 관계 = Structural Relationships among Socioeconomic Status, Maternal Depression and Maternal Parenting on Young Children’s Negative Peer Play Behaviors

This study explores the structural relationships among socioeconomic status, maternal depression and maternal parenting on young children’s negative peer play behaviors. The 2011 data of Panel Study on Korean Children were used. The sample for this analysis was 1,469 young children aged 35 to 42 months and their mothers. The results of this investigation reveal the following: (1) Socioeconomic status significantly affected maternal depression and maternal parenting (warmth and responsiveness). (2) The relationship between socioeconomic status and maternal parenting is significantly mediated by maternal depression. (3) The relationship between socioeconomic status and young children’s negative peer play behaviors (play disruption and play disconnection) are significantly mediated by maternal depression and maternal parenting. Future research is needed to development parent intervention program on young children’s negative peer play behaviors and explore moderating effects of external family environment factors between low income and young children’s negative peer play behaviors.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 사회경제적 지위, 어머니의 우울, 어머니의 양육행동 및 유아의 부정적 또래놀이행동간의 구조적 관계를 확인함으로써 유아의 부정적 또래놀이행동을 감소시키고 긍정적인 또래관계 수립을 돕기 위한 기초 자료를 제공하기 위해 실시되었다. 본 연구는 한국아동패널의 2011년 데이터(4차)를 사용하였으며, 연구대상은 35개월 42개월 사이의 유아 1,469명과 그의 어머니이다. 유아의 부정적 또래놀이행동과 관련변인들 간의 구조적 관계를 확인하기 위해 구조방정식 모형 분석을 실시하였으며 구조모형의 적합도는 매우 양호한 것으로 나타났다. 구조모형의 경로별 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사회경제적 지위는 어머니의 우울과 어머니의 양육행동(온정성과 반응성)에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 사회경제적 지위와 어머니의 양육행동간의 관계는 어머니의 우울에 의해 매개되었다. 마지막으로 사회경제적 지위와 유아의 부정적 또래놀이행동(놀이방해행동과 놀이단절행동)간의 관계는 어머니의 우울과 어머니의 양육행동에 의해 매개되었다. 유아의 부정적 또래놀이행동을 감소시키기 위한 어머니의 우울 및 부정적 양육행동 중재프로그램 개발의 필요성 및 유아의 부정적 또래놀이행동을 야기하는 가족환경의 취약성을 보완하는 가족외부환경의 중재적 역할의 필요성을 제기하였다.
