의사 커뮤니케이션에서 언어적 메시지와 비언어적 메시지의 상대적 중요도에 대한 탐색적 고찰 AHP를 적용한 의사와 환자의 인식비교 = Relative Importance of Verbal vs. Nonverbal Messages in Physician Communication An Application of AHP Method

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper examines the relative importance of verbal- and nonverbal messages in physician-patient communication using AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). The results based on the comparative study of perceptions between twenty six physicians and twenty seven patients showed the order of comprehensive importance and priorities of message types: feedback (.218) → easy explanations (.193) → body language (.150) → paralanguage (.144) → respectful listening (.121) → polite conversation (.091) → appearance (.042) → in-room acts (.040) for physicians; and feedback (.136) → easy explanations (.120) → respectful listening (.075) → polite conversation (.057) → body language (.056) → paralanguage (.054) → appearance (.016) → in-room acts (.015) for patients. This indicated both physicians and patients perceived the importance of verbal messages but not the nonverbal messages such as in-room acts. In addition, the relative importance of easy explanation (ranked 2nd) and appearance (ranked 7th) were identically ranked in both physicians and patients, demonstrating their perceptions are not different.
