The present study attempted to explore the public relations paradigm which public relations practitioners have in their mind. While the mind set of practitioners showed a little different perception of public relations roles depending on the organizations, the major paradigm of public relations was systematic approach from the perspective of organization. The results showed that the image/reputation management, persuasion, advocacy were main paradigm of public relations among Korean public relations practitioners. Relationship management theory provides the balance between symbolic communications and behavioral communications by correcting the negative effect of spinning.
