노인의 우울 및 자살생각에 있어서 사회적지지의 완충효과 = Depression, suicidal thoughts and the buffering effect of social support among the elderly

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to examine the relation between elderly depression and suicidal thought and to investigate buffer effect of social support on the relation. The participants of this study were 265 elderly people who were convenient sampling from the elderly residents in Daejeon Metropolitan City. It was found that age, physical health, and marital status were significantly related to elderly suicidal thought, that lower family cohesion, higher ageism, and lower social activity are led to a high degree of feelings of depression, and that the elderly depression and suicidal thought are related to buffer effect of social support. The finding of this study contributes to extend the understanding of elderly suicide, and suggest the suicide prevention's program for elderly in terms of primary prevention and secondary prevention. And it needs to do further research for further refining this study.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 노인의 심리적 디스트레스인 우울과 자살생각의 관계에 대해 조사를 하였으며, 또한 우울이 노인의 자살생각에 미치는 부정적 영향을 완화하는 사회적지지의 효과를 분석하였다. 대전지역에 거주하는 일반노인 265명을 대상으로 조사를 하였으며, 연구결과, 교육수준이 낮을수록, 건강상태가 안 좋을수록, 경제상태가 안 좋을수록, 가족응집이 낮을수록, 사회활동참여가 적을수록, 차별을 받는다고 인식할수록 우울이 높게 나타났으며, 자살생각의 경우에는 남성이고, 혼자 사는 경우, 건강상태가 안 좋을수록, 우울정도가 심할수록 자살생각을 많이 하는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 또한, 사회적지지 중 친구지지는 우울이 노인의 자살생각에 미치는 부정적 영향을 완충하는 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
