청소년센터의 대안적 학습의 특징과 교육적 시사점 탐색

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to analyse the features of the alternative learning in youth center and
to propose suggestions on ways to improve the system. The field of this study is 'Heuimang Youth
Center' in Seoul, which advocates 'alternative education'. I analysed many youths' cultural activities
through participant observations and interviews in order to determine the features of the alternative
learning in 'Heuimang Youth Center'. The results are as following.
The features of the alternative learning in this center are 'to be able to do what I want to do',
'to open learning evaluations to the public' and 'to learn through body rather than mind'. From
these, I suggest three educational points for schooling. First, the school learning has to be
self-directed learning. This learning becomes lived-experiences for students. Second, evaluations of
learning in school has to aim at students' educational growth. To establish this aim, qualitative
evaluation methods must be considered in school evaluation. Finally, schools have to be transformed
into flexible systems which can react properly to students' needs and demands.
I think that many complaints of schooling will gradually be diminished if schools consider these
suggestions.
