농촌지역 초고령 홀몸노인의 심리적 안녕감에 영향을 미치는 요인 = The factors affecting psychological well-being of the oldest old elderly living alone in rural area

With the lengthening of life in old ages, the diversity of old age and different approaches to deal with elderly population in various disciplines have been carefully considered. This study was pursued to find the factors which affect psychological well-being(anxiety, attitude toward own aging, dissatisfaction about loneliness) of the oldest old rural elders living alone regarded as very vulnerable population in many areas including physical health, mental health, social network. The research subjects in this study were all oldest old elderly living alone at 6 townships in Gimhae city, Gyoung Sang Nam Do, and 158 out of 195 collected questionnaires were utilized for analysis. From the results of the study, subjective health status, the numbers of children, the degree of social participation, self-efficacy, the support from family, the support from significant others were found to be the significant factors which affect psychological well-being of the research subjects. However, contrary to the existing study findings, socio-demographic characteristics such as age, gender, economic status did not affect their psychological well-being. Based on the results of the study, the practical strategies and policy implications for increasing psychological well-being of the oldest old elderly living alone in rural areas were suggested.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

노년기가 길어짐에 따라 연령에 따른 노인인구의 다양성과 이에 대한 차별화된 접근이 여러 학문분야에서 강조되고 있다. 본 연구는 신체, 심리, 사회 등 다영역에서 가장 취약한 집단이라고 할 수 있는 농촌지역 거주 초고령 홀몸노인의 심리적 안녕감(불안, 노화에 대한 태도, 외로움에 대한 불만족)에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 밝히기 위해 수행되었다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 경상남도 김해시의 6개 면지역에 거주하고 있는 85세 이상 홀몸노인 195명을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였고, 이중 158부를 자료분석에 사용하였다. 연구결과를 살펴보면, 주관적 건강상태, 자녀의 수, 사회활동 참여도, 자기효능감, 가족으로부터의 지지, 의미 있는 타인으로부터의 지지가 초고령 홀몸노인들의 심리적 안녕감에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 변수로 밝혀졌다. 한편, 선행연구들과는 대조적으로 연령, 성별, 경제적 수준 등과 같은 인구학적 특성들은 초고령 홀몸노인들의 심리적 안녕감에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구결과를 토대로 초고령 노인들의 심리적 안녕감을 향상시키기 위한 실천적 및 정책적 함의를 제시하였다.
