베이비부머의 자원봉사활동 특성 및 참여동기가 자원봉사 역할정체성 및 자원봉사만족도에 미치는 영향 = The effect of baby boomer volunteers’ volunteering and the motives of volunteering on the volunteer role identity and volunteer satisfaction

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to examine the baby boomers' volunteering and whether variables are affecting volunteer role identity and volunteer satisfaction. The sample size of this study is 280 baby boomers who were volunteering. For collecting data, interview methods were used. The target population was selected using ratio sampling of gender based on population census. As for the data analysis methods, to compare two groups depending on gender and job, t-tests were used. For testing the effect of volunteering on volunteer role identity and satisfaction, multiple regressions were used. According to the research results, as their income was increasing their volunteer satisfaction was increasing. Regression results indicated that income and religion affected volunteer role identity. The motives of volunteers such as value, protection and understanding affected volunteer role identity positively and experience affected volunteer role identity negatively in a statistically significant level. The volunteer motives such as experience and social affected volunteer satisfaction in statistically significant level. Since the motives of baby boomers' volunteering affected the role identity and satisfaction of volunteering, volunteering can be an important factor of baby boomers' preparation in the social aspect for older age who are easily isolated.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 베이비부머 자원봉사자들의 자원봉사활동 특성 및 자원봉사 참여동기를 분석하여 이들의 자원봉사만족에 미치는 영향을 파악하여 자원봉사활동을 활성화하는데 있다. 연구대상은 서울과 경기, 인천의 수도권 베이비부머 자원봉사자 280명이다. 연구결과에 의하면 자원봉사 기간은 여성이 남성보다 길었으며 직장이 없는 경우 자원봉사 참여동기 중 사회성동기, 가치동기, 보호성동기, 이해동기가 직장이 있는 경우보다 높았다. 자원봉사특성의 자원봉사 역할정체성에 미치는 영향은 수입이 높을수록, 종교가 있을수록 높았다. 자원봉사동기의 종류에 따라 역할정체성 및 자원봉사 만족도에 미치는 영향에는 차이를 나타내고 있다. 참여동기 중 경력동기는 자원봉사 역할정체성을 낮추었으며 강화동기, 보호성동기, 이해동기는 자원봉사 역할정체성을 높였다. 종교가 있을 경우 자원봉사만족도가 높았으며 경력동기와 사회성동기는 자원봉사만족도를 높였다. 생산적이고 활동적인 베이비붐세대의 자원봉사동기의 자원봉사 역할정체성 및 자원봉사만족도의 영향에 대한 연구는 기존의 노인자원봉사를 대상으로 한 연구와 구분되는 내용으로 베이비부머들의 노년기까지의 지속적인 자원봉사를 통한 역할정립을 위해 다양한 영역의 자원봉사동기 참여동기의 중요성이 강화되어야 할 것이다.
