프랙탈 구조에 따른 이상 시의 텍스트 분석 = Text analysis in Yi Sang’s poem according to fractal structure

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The fractal theory originated from mathematical ideas is rooted in nature. And observation and expression of nature is a very fundamental approach in designing. In this research, the characteristics and formative principles of fractal were explored, which enables graphic image expansion in the digital media area. And by doing so, this research further analyzed ‘Theme 1, 2 and 3’ of the poem <Ohgamdo> by Sang Yi. Fractal structures are found in Sang Yi’s poem, who tried to go against Euclidian geometry and beyond Newton’s universal gravitation and was interested in non-Euclidian geometry and Einsteinian principle of relativity. His works exhibit fractal characteristics such as self-similarity, non-linearity, irregularity, and randomness along with fractal formative principles of repetition, overlapping, distortion and scaling transformation. Yi’s poems are more proactive text which can escape from a passive media structure to become a visual image itself, opening the doors of reading with farther imagination for readers. The fractal theory has expanded its influence to humanities, natural science and even social science as a continuous research theme amid diverse social and cultural developments. It also functions as a key expression principle in the field of design. In this recognition, analyzing the fractal theory in literature texts in this research, is promising in that design is to study how to expand communication with other study areas in the process of creation and action while rooted in human and nature.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

수학 이론에서 출발한 프랙탈 이론의 뿌리는 자연에 두고 있으며, 자연에 대한 관찰과 표현은 디자인에 있어 기본적인 자세이다. 디지털미디어에서 그래픽 이미지의 확장을 가능하게 하는 프랙탈의 특성과 조형원리를 고찰하고, 이를 통해 이상 시(詩) 중 <오감도>의 ‘시제1, 2, 3호’를 분석하였다. 유클리드 기하학에 반(反)하고 뉴턴의 만유인력에서 벗어나 비유클리드적 기하학과 이인슈타인의 상대성 원리에 관심을 기울였던 이상의 시를 통해 프랙탈 구조를 확인할 수 있다. 이상 시의 텍스트는 자기유사성, 비선형성, 불규칙성, 무작위성의 프랙탈 특성과 반복, 중첩, 왜곡, 스케일링 변환의 프랙탈 조형원리가 드러남을 알 수 있다. 수동적인 미디어체계에서 벗어나 시각적 이미지로서의 상승이 가능한 능동적인 텍스트로서 수용자에게 상상력을 통한 글 읽기의 가능성을 열어주었다. 프랙탈 이론은 오늘날 인문학, 자연과학, 사회과학에까지 응용의 폭을 넓히며 사회․문화 현상 속에 연구가 지속되고 있으며, 디자인에 있어서도 중요한 표현원리로 작용하고 있다. 이에 문학의 텍스트 내에서 프랙탈 이론을 분석하는 것은 디자인이 인간과 자연에 중심을 두고 창조와 행위라는 과정 속에 연계 학문과 소통의 확산을 꾀하는 학문이라는 점에서 본 연구의 가능성을 두는 바이다.
