As the problem of energy depletion and environmental pollution emerges all over the world, researches on development of new and renewable energy and development of lightweight materials to replace fossil energy depletion are actively underway. Among them, as a representative automobile using fossil fuel, interest in environmentally friendly vehicles using a motor instead of an internal combustion engine has been rapidly increased to replace the fuel. And thus, a soft magnetic characteristic study is being conducted to obtain a high magnetic flux density with a small magnetic field. The soft magnetic composite material has a great advantage compared with the existing electric steel sheet. In addition, the powder metallurgical process is used to produce these composites because it is simple sample, and mass production is possible with low cost.
In this study, mechanical alloying by cold compression molding of powder metallurgy was performed according to the mixing ratio of Al-Ni-Fe-CNT. After powder mixing, mold was prepared and the specimens were molded and sintered., The microstructure, mechanical and electromagnetic properties were analyzed. As the content of nickel and iron was increased, it was confirmed that lightness was improved according to the aluminum content and the electromagnetic characteristics were improved. After analysis and comparing the specimens with the motor core sold in the market, It is not appropriate to apply it to the motor. In the future, it will be possible to substitute various lightweight materials through optimization of powder blending, pressure and sintering conditions.
