This study lays its aim at checking whether communications between parents and children has any effect on psychological well-being through self-differentation level targeting juveniles. For this, questionnaire materials were collected using questionnaire method of self-report type targeting students of a senior high school located in Chung Nam Porvince area. Based on the collected material, various matters were checked including communication between parents and children, level of self differentation, psychological well-being, how corelation among factors and daptability of structural model is, using SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0.
Summarized important result based on research subjects set up by this study are as the following.
First, as a result of examination on relation among communications between parents and children, level of self-differentation and psychological well-being, open type of communication, psychological well-being and level of self- differentation showed significant positive relation, while problem oriented communication and psychological well-being showed significant negative relation.
Second, in a structural model that adopts communication between parents and children as independent variable, psychological well-being as dependent variable and level of self-differentation as parameter, bootstrap estimation showed that communication between parents and children has significant effect on psychological well-being adopting level of self differentation as parameter. In other words, this means that communication between parents and children has not only direct effect on psychological well-being and level of self differentation , but also has significant effect on psychological well-being adopting level of self differentation as parameter. This represents that the more positive the communication between parents and children becomes, the higher the level of self-differentation of juveniles becomes, and eventually, it has positive effect even on psychological well-being of juveniles.
In this study, examination was conducted on effect that communication between parents and children has on psychological well-being of juveniles adopting level of self-differentation of juveniles as intermediary. In addition, effect could be found operating among factors of communication between parents and children, psychological well-being of juveniles and level of self-differentation. This study will not only be of good help to be utilized as basic material for psychological well-being of juveniles, but also can help develop education of communication targeting parents or group program for parents and children.
