The purposes of this study were to overview the basic framework of the Family Life Education(FLE), to investigate the trends and tasks of the FLE in Korea, and to offer the prospects for the future of the Korean FLE.
Of the FLE program in Korea, the active programs were premarriage education,
marriage enrichment program, and parent education program. The active fields were multidisciplinary and multiprofessionals in Korea(i.e., religion, social work, education, psychology & counseling, family science etc.).
In conclusion the several tasks and prospects were suggested for the vitalization of 2000s' FLE in Korea. It included the clarification of definition and framework of the FLE, the specialization and effectiveness of the FLE program, the improvement of program management and evaluation, the FLE educator training and the institutionalization of the FLE, and the diversity of the FLE.
