      This study will investigate the history of autonomous vehicles, its difference from conventional automobiles and provide recommendations for the most optimized interior and the exterior design for fully autonomous vehicles in the future. Since the first automobile invention, proficiency to operate vehicles at various speed and road conditions created different rules and regulations. The concept of an autonomous vehicle, where the function supports, relieves and replace human driving to increase efficiency, reduce stress, fatigue and eventually eliminate accidents has been the ultimate goal of everyone. History wise, earliest forms of an autonomous vehicle in a concept form was proposed from the 1930s and with continued development of vehicle and other related technologies, the dream is starting to become a reality. However, it is surprising to know that the design styling of the autonomous vehicle has largely been ignored, and with autonomous vehicles fast becoming an integral part of current automobiles, there is a need for redefining how to develop the design and styling most optimized for fully autonomous vehicles.
