There has been a lot of need for counseling ministry in recent years due to the fast changes in the Korean society. In the last 50 years, Korean society went through the rapid economic development and the break up of an extended family system. These changes made people to suffer from unstable psychological state. However the history of counseling education in Korea has not been long. Especially the counseling program, training Christian counselors in the graduate level, in the seminary has begun in the last 15 years. The purpose of this paper is researching graduate counseling program in the seminary or the Christian universities in Korea. Six seminaries from Korea and six seminaries from the U.S. were chosen to compare the counseling curriculums. Each school`s counseling curriculums were analysed in order to upgrade the counseling program. Six schools from Korea are Kukje Seminary, Baksuk University, Sungkyul University, Asian Center for Theological Studies and Mission, ChongShin University, HanYoung Seminary. Six seminary from the U.S are Covenant Theological Seminary, Denver Seminary, Fuller Seminary, Reformed Theological School, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Westminster Theological Seminary.
