This paper is concerned with the analytical comparison of the study-achievement between two kinds of technical jurnior college graduates-whose major subjects were mechanics and mechanical design-who graduated from general and technical high schools. The sample graduates were selected from 18 technical junior colleges, which in term were selected fron among 34 of the same kinds of colleges in our country. From such an analytical comparison, several conclusions were reached as follows. 1. The graduates who had finished technical high school had better records, in every subject, than the others. Therefore they had some advantages over the geaeral high school graduates. 2. The mean value in this paper is useful as a reference-standard for evaluating students. 3. In the graduation season a number of students are confused by preparations for the quslifying test with a resulting loss in final year achievement, so special schemes are needed to help students finish their school life in a more orderly way. 4. Generally, the technical high school finishing-graduates who had good records in mathmatics obtained higher marks than the others. Thus, in technical high schools, the significance of the mathmatics should be greater than before. 5. For the students who had finished general high schools, a special scheme will be indispensable to provide supplemental instruction in several subjects such as machine elements design, manufacturing processes and mechanical drawing.
