의례행동이 여대생의 지각된 통제감과 폭식행동에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of Rituals on Perceived Sense of Control and Binge Eating

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of rituals on perceived sense of control and binge eating behavior. Rituals have been regarded as clinical symptoms of various psychological disorders, but are now seen as a potential treatment factor. The participants were 20 female undergraduate students who scored high on the BULIT-R. As a result of the 5-day intervention, participants’ perceived sense of control scores increased, binge eating scores decreased, and the treatment effects partially lasted another five days. Based on the findings, the limitations and implications of present study were discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

임상적 증상으로 간주되었던 의례행동을 치료적 수단으로 재조명하는 최근의 선행연구에 기초하여, 본 연구에서는 의례행동이 여대생의 지각된 통제감을 향상시키고 폭식행동을 감소시키는 처치효과를 보일 것이라고 가정하고 경험적으로 검증하였다. 폭식증 검사 개정판(BULIT-R)에서 상대적으로 폭식행동에 취약하다고 평가된 여대생 20명에게 5일 동안 의례행동을 처치한 결과, 처치 전 5일간에 비해 처치 중 5일 동안 지각된 통제감이 증가되고 폭식행동이 감소하는 처치효과가 관찰되었다. 또한 그 효과가 처치 후에도 5일간 유지되는 지속효과가 부분적으로 관찰되었다. 이를 바탕으로 의례행동이 적절한 통제요소로 작용할 수 있는 가능성 및 본 연구의 한계점과 시사점을 논의하였다.
