被服原型에 關한 硏究 : 소매原型의 오그림에 대해서 Easing Amount of Sleeve Patterns = A study on Basic Dress patterns

The purpose of this study was to determine quantitatively the relation between the basic slceeve patterns and the development of body surface.
In this study, 20 types of the basic sleeve pattern used in Korea were drawn in saute size and examined.
The results are summarized as follows.
1) Replacing the easing amount reserved at the sleeve cap of several basic sleeve patterns by the corresponding darts amount, we have constructed the shape of sleeve using paper instead of cloth by two methods. thus, the contracted amount has been shown to be the dart amount required to develop the shape of the sleeve.
2) In the case of the method to use the easing amount as the darts amount in the direction of the normal lines of the several parts of the sleeve cap curve in proportion to the radius of the curvature, various basic sleeve patterns hitheto collected by authors and be classified into two groups according to the contracting method.
3) The average value of the easing amounts along the girth of armhole has been calculated to be 7.0cm (S.D. 2.2cm) for the collections of the patterns examined above.
