교과용도서의 장애 관련 내용선정 및 개발절차 요구 분석 = A analysis needs for development process and selection of the Disability-Related Content of the Textbooks

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현 교과용도서에는 장애 및 장애인과 관련하여 적합하지 않은 소재, 용어, 삽화 등이 다수 수록되어 있고 이를 활용하여 교수-학습 활동을 하는 일반교사나 일반학생에게 교과용도서가 오히려 장애인에 대하여 잘못된 인식을 심어줄 우려가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 교과용도서 개발에 직접 참여하고 있는 교육과정 연구자, 행정가 및 특수교육교사, 장애학생 학부모 등 관련 전문가를 대상으로 조사 연구를 실시하여, 현재의 교과용도서의 장애 관련 내용 개발 및 수록 절차에 대한 문제점을 분석하고, 향후 교과용도서의 장애 관련 개발과 편수절차에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The primary purpose of this present study was to investigate the development process of the disability-related content of the textbooks. To achieve this purpose, this study analyzed the disability-related content included in current textbooks, which were developed in accordance with the 7th education curriculum and conducted a needs assessment on the development procedures of the disability-related content of the textbooks of the future.
The analysis of the disability-related content included in current textbooks indicated the following:
First, the textbook introduced more characters with disabilities from other countries than those of our own country, and the overall disability-related content was written with an emphasis on 'pity and charity.' it was suggested that the disability-related content should focus on individual differences and human rights, and literary works containing degrading terms to describe individuals with disabilities should be used as negative examples for the improvement of disability awareness.
Second, curriculum developers, special education policy makers, general education teachers, and special educators indicated that the disability-related content of the textbooks should be written to depict people with disabilities as members of the peer group and local community who actively engage in social interaction with others. On the other hand, parents of children with disabilities indicated that disability etiquette should be included in the textbook considering the characteristics of the subject area.
Third, the committee on special education professionals should examine the appropriateness of the disability-related content(terms and illustrations) during the ist textbook review process. In this review, the hierarchical presentation of the disability-related content should also be examined.
