영국미술관 가족체험프로그램의 "소통"에 관한 사례연구 = A study on "Communication" of Family Activity Programmes by the British Art Museums

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 영국미술관 교육의 이해를 바탕으로 영국미술관의 교육프로그램을 분석하고 영국미술관 가족체험프로그램에 참여하여 그 사례들을 연구함으로써 미술관과 관람자 사이에 이루어지는 ‘소통’방식을 분석하여 궁극적으로 어린이들의 미술이해 능력 증진방향을 모색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구의 방법과 범위는 문헌연구, 인터넷 검색, 현장조사, 사례연구, 관찰법, 인터뷰 등을 통하여 영국미술관의 가족체험프로그램을 분석하여 미술관과 관람자 사이의 ‘소통’방식 사례들을 살펴보았으며, 영국미술관 교육의 이해를 위한 이론적 고찰을 통하여 영국미술관교육의 개념 및 체험활동 요소를 정립하고 영국미술관의 교육프로그램 내용에 관하여 구체적으로 조사하였다. 영국미술관 5곳의 가족체험프로그램에 런던에 거주하는 한국초등학생과 함께 참여하여 프로그램이 진행되는 동안 대화를 통한 내용 기록 및 어린이의 드로잉, 작품 등을 분석하여 미술관 가족체험프로그램의 장 단점을 분석하여 제시하였다. 사회적·문화적 교육기관으로서의 미술관은 개인의 교육적 욕구를 충족시켜줄 수 있는 학습의 장으로서, 미술을 통한 가족의 소통의 장으로서 또한, 학교 미술교육에서 경험할 수 없는 실제 작품을 보고 어린이들과 소통하며 어린이들의 미적 체험을 통하여 자신의 삶과 연관된 미의식을 체득할 수 있는 잠재력의 공간이다. 영국 미술관은 부단한 노력으로 민주적이고 자유로운 분위기의 미술관 소통정책을 실행하고 있으며 이것은 전통적인 순수미술의 높은 벽을 대중화 하는데 기여했다. 이러한 영국 미술관의 가족체험프로그램에 참여하여 사례를 분석함으로써 미술을 통한 ‘소통’의 긍정적 측면을 모색하여 어린이의 미술이해력 증진 방안을 제안하고자 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of the current study is to analyze the British art museum`s education program by basing on the understanding of the British art museum`s education and the participation in the British art museum`s family activity programmes, analyzing the case studies, analyzing the ``communication`` between the art museum and their audiences to ultimately find the direction to enhance the children`s artistical understanding ability. The method and scope of the research was analyzing the British art museum`s family activity programmes to observe the ``communication`` method examples between the art museum and its observers through literature research, internet research, field studies, observation, interviews etc. And the details about the British art museum`s education program was throughly researched through theoretical study to understand the British museum`s education. By participating in 5 British museums` family activity programmes with a Korean elementary student who was staying in London, we were able to analyze and suggest the pros and cons of the museum family activity programmes, while the programmes were in progress by recording the dialogues, analyzing the drawings and works of the child. As a social, cultural educational institution, a museum is an educational place to satisfy one`s educational needs, a communication place for family through arts, and furthermore, by watching works where one cannot experience in a school`s art education and by communicating with children and their artistic experience it is a potential area where the children can learn the aesthetic consciousness related to their life. The British art museum is implementing a democratic and free communicational policy which helped to popularize the high walls of traditional fine arts. And by participating and analyzing the British museum`s family activity programmes, seeking the positive side of the ``communication`` through art and suggest the children`s artistical understanding promotional plan.
