행동주의 미술의 철학적 담론에 관한 고찰 : 르페브르, 무페, 바디우

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 글의 목적은 - 미술사적으로 2차 세계대전 이후 점차 동시대 삶과 사회의 문제를 다루며 등장한, 따라서 이 문제를 깊이 성찰한 동시대 철학적 담론과 긴밀한 관계를 맺으며 전개된 컨템퍼러리 아트의 실천과 담론의 맥락에서 - 오늘날 (특히 1990년대 이래) 행동주의 미술의 철학적 담론을 앙리 르페브르, 샹탈 무페, 알랭 바디우의 관련 이론을 중심으로 고찰하는 데 있다. 구체적으로 이 글은 첫째 르페브르의 ‘일상생활비판,’ ‘도시에 대한 권리, ‘공간의 생산’의 개념이 어떻게 행동주의 미술의 실천적 전개 방향에 이론적 토대를 제공해주고 있는지, 둘째 샹탈 무페의 ‘불화의 민주주의,’ ‘공적 개입,’ ‘논쟁적 공간’의 논의가 어떻게 행동주의 미술의 주요 이론적 쟁점들을 부각시키며 다루고 있는지, 셋째 알랭 바디우의 ‘예술의 진리,’ ‘구체적 보편성,’ ‘새로운 가능성’의 원리가 어떻게 행동주의 미술의 철학적 원리로 작동하고 있는지를 각각 규명한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The goal of this paper lies in examining philosophical discourses on which today’s activist art has developed ever since WWII, focusing on the relevant theories of Henri Lefebvre, Chantal Mouffe, and Alain Badiou, in the art-historical context in which contemporary art has gradually emerged by dealing with its coeval social issues, and accordingly by referring to its coeval philosophical discourses. Specifically it elucidates, first, how Lefebvre’s ideas such as ‘critique of everyday life,’ ‘the right to the city,’ and ‘production of space’ would provide theoretical frameworks for the practical direction of activist art, second, how Mouffe’s discussions of ‘democracy of dissensus,’ ‘public intervention,’ and ‘agnostic space’ have dealt with key theoretical issues of activist art, and, third, how Badiou’s principles of ‘the truth of art,’ ‘particular universality,’ and ‘new possibility’ would indeed work as the philosophical principle of activist art in general.
