The basic line of socialistic nations, such as Soviet Union, China and North Korea, on the international trade was nation-based autarky and socialistic cooperation, in order not to be influenced by the so-called capitalistic exploitation. Furthermore their value systems were different from those of capitalistic nations.
To maintain the socialistic cooperation the nations emphasized the nation-based autarky, because they believed this was the basis of developing all of the socialistic economies and of protecting themselves from the capitalistic exploitation. But this theoretical autarky system itself had realistic problems because of the limited resources in one country. In order to overcome the problems of the nation-based autarky, therefore Russia, China and North Korea realized the international cooperation among socialistic countries. They believed that the cooperation could solve the insufficient resources problems of national autarky, keep their countries from the capitalistic exploitation and develop the national economies adhering the socialistic value system.
This socialistic cooperation itself required large-scale manufacturing facilities and advanced technologies that the socialistic countries were lacked. That is, for the socialistic development the socialistic countries had to import the facilities and the technologies from capitalistic countries admitting the capitalistic world-wide expansion.
But in order not to be exploited from the capitalistic countries, the socialistic countries imported the goods from the capitalistic countries in connection with exports of socialistic goods in the same amounts, which made the equilibrium in the trade balance.
But after the transformation of economic systems, the principles of the socialistic trade could not applied to Russia, China and North Korea. Nowadays Russia, transformed to capitalistic market system, is involved completely in the world-wide capitalistic market. China, transformed to socialistic market system, accepts the world -wide capitalistic market only in order to develop the socialistic economy under the communist party, North Korea, still under the socialistic planned economy, remains alone outside the world-wide capitalistic market losing his ex-socialistic cooperative countries.
